I grew up in Maywood, California, an inner-city community in Los Angeles County, where I attended local public schools that shaped my early educational journey. I earned my bachelor's degree from the University of the Pacific, majoring in Psychology with minors in English, Spanish, and Child Psychology. I later completed my graduate studies in Educational Psychology at California State University, Long Beach, where I had the privilege of returning as an adjunct professor. As I begin my 14th year as a school psychologist, I reflect with gratitude on the opportunity to serve in a variety of roles, collaborate with diverse educational communities, and support students from a wide range of backgrounds. Throughout my career, these experiences have deepened my commitment to fostering equitable, meaningful, and student-centered educational outcomes.
